2014 Dodge Dart is a Best Bet for The Car Book

2014 Dodge DartFor the second year in a row, The Car Book has named the 2014 Dodge Dart as a “Best Bet,” an enormous honor for the popular compact car.

Out of a possible score of 10, the 2014 Dodge Dart received a 9 from The Car Book. Scoring is based on crash test results, rollover rating, repair costs, and many other studies from government and independent testing. In the categories of warranty coverage, rollover rating, fuel economy, and crash testing, the Dart earned a score of 8, and for having inexpensive repair costs, the Dart earned a 9.

Tim Kuniskis, the President and CEO of Dodge Brand, responded to the honor in a press release from Chrysler, stating, “The Car Book’s recognition of the Dart as a ‘Best Bet’ for two years running confirms what our customers are telling us. The Dodge Dart has unique combination of distinctive styling, fun-to-drive performance, up to 41 mpg, segment-leading safety features, and easy-to-use technology, all combined, making it a tremendous value.”

Other recent awards for the Dodge Dart include the Connected Car of the Year honors from Connected World Magazine, a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and Strategic Vision’s “Most Loved Vehicles in America.” Starting price for the 2014 Dodge Dart is $15,995.

Orders Flood in for New Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker

Dodge Challenger ShakerAfter opening orders for the new 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker, Dodge has received 2,000 dealer orders, or the whole 2014 model year production run, in only four days.

Dodge expected demand to be high for the new Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker models, but even people closest to the model’s development and introduction at the SEMA show in Las Vegas last year were surprised by how quickly dealers ordered the entire year’s production run.

Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of the Dodge Brand, responded to the dealer orders, saying, “Based on this strong initial demand, it’s clear that our customer are excited about the return of the legendary Shaker model, which was engineered for enthusiasts who asked for even more attitude and a dose of muscle car heritage. The 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 Engine with the unique hood and intake design makes this performance car an instant classic – much like the original 1970 Challenger R/T with the Shaker hood.”

For those unfamiliar with the 1970 model, the Dodge Challenger’s Shaker directs cool air back into the engine and “shakes” with the powertrain’s movement, giving it the name “Shaker.” The new 2014 model comes with the Super Track Pack which improves steering, suspension, and braking for the vehicle, and special “Shaker” touches can be found all over the interior including a logo embroidered on the seat back and a “Shaker” numbered dash plaque.

Pricing on the 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker starts at $36,995, or $37,495 with the custom hood-to-tail stripes, and it comes in Header Orange, Plum Crazy, TorRed, Bright White, Billet Silver Metallic, or Pitch Black.

Dodge Named One of “World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies”

Fast Company Most Innovative Companies

When naming the top innovative companies in the world, names like Google and Nike immediately jump to mind. According to Fast Company magazine, Dodge belongs among those prestigious names.

This week, Fast Company announced their list of the “World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies” which will be featured in their March 2014 issue. Their list included household names Dropbox, Netflix, and Twitter, and squeezed in between Yelp and SXSW is Dodge. Fast Company’s Jason Feifer praised Dodge’s marketing strategy in 2013, particularly their tie-ins with Anchorman 2 and Fast & Furious 6. Additionally, the Dodge brand was central in the Syfy channel’s series Defiance, and one of Dodge’s new ad campaigns featured popular rapper Pitbull.

Dodge’s presence in popular culture was hard to miss in 2013. Feifer hits the nail on the head when he writes, “When the eponymous character in FX’s Archer received a Dodge for his birthday, it was proof of cultural saturation: That wasn’t a paid spot. Dodge was just on the writer’s minds.”

Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer of Chrysler Group LLC, thanked Fast Company for the honor and praised the work done by the marketing teams with Chrysler LLC. “The campaigns and partnerships we create for each of our brands are as individual and different as the brands themselves,” he stated in a press release. “The Dodge initiatives Fast Company highlighted convey a mind-set that is purely Dodge.”
