Dodge Challenger and Journey Top September Sales

2015 Dodge Challenger - DodgeDealerNY - 02

September was a good month for the Dodge brand.  As a whole, Fiat-Chrysler had an incredibly strong month and kept their sales streak alive.  While Jeep was the biggest winner, Dodge and their vehicle line-up set numerous records for the month.

The Challenger had its best September sales ever.  Sales were up by 26 percent making this its 8th sales record this year.  The muscle car has been one of the biggest hits of the year, aided by an extremely popular Hellcat variant.  The Challenger has always been a mainstay of the muscle car community, but the 2015 model has seemingly re-sparked a love for it amongst new and nostalgic fans.

The other Dodge vehicle that set a record was the Journey. It had its sixth sales record this year with September being the best month it’s ever had.  The Journey remains one of the strongest and more popular mid-size crossovers on the market.

As a whole, Dodge’s sales were up 3 percent in the month of September.

Dodge continues to have a great sales trend.  The new focus on premium performance is paying off for the company.

Dodge Challenger Sets Record April Sales!

Dodge Challenger Sets Record Sales - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge

The Dodge Challenger has been having a high-point of late.  The Hellcat has been doing very well and with the addition of the Scat Pack it seems clear that Dodge is embracing a new era of muscle cars.  The fans have taken notice and thanks to this new commitment to performance, the Challenger had its best April sales ever.

In the whole of the month of April, Dodge sold 6,771 Challengers.  In comparison to a year ago, that is an increase of 32%.  It is a notch better than March which saw 6,110 Challengers sold.  To mark off this momentous occasion for the muscle car, the April sales are the most Challengers sold in a single month since the Challenger was brought back in 2008.

This is great news for muscle car fans.  Dodge has been making strides into reclaiming the old glory of the muscle car while putting a nice and modern face to it.  The sales for the overall year is still just as strong.  With 22,728 Challengers sold thus far, that puts it above the previous years by 41%.  If this continues, it may top the previous record year for the Challenger which happened in 1970.  That year sold 76,935 Challengers.  Fingers crossed and maybe, just maybe, 2015 is the year of the Dodge Challenger.

Why The Viper is Struggling in Sales

2015 Dodge SRT Viper - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge - 01hor

The SRT Viper is now back under the Dodge name.  Along with that, the Viper is also getting a new model.  The biggest hurdle that the new Viper has to get over, however, isn’t anything to do with its power or the name on the label, but just how to convince drivers to invest in the Viper.

Jalopnik highlights that the Viper seems to be doing everything right but can’t seem to boost sales.  The new model has a more powerful 8.4-liter V10 engine that gives five additional horsepower and better fuel economy.

Jalopnik blames the sales trend on its rival, the Corvette Stingray, which is less powerful than the new Viper, but a deal cheaper.  If anything is holding back the new Viper from getting into the garages of fans, it is most likely the higher cost.

Now that the Viper is a Dodge brand vehicle again and is bringing out various improvements in its new models, maybe drivers will follow what Jalopnik is asking of them and that is to please buy the Viper.
