Dodge’s “Predators” Features Hellcats on the Prowl

Dodge Predators - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge DodgeDealerNY

It is always great to see new Dodge ads pop up.  Dodge produced two new videos to showcase the how awesome and powerful their Hellcats are.

Showing the Hellcats in this way is kind of rubbing salt in the wound.  Yes Dodge, we all know that the Hellcats are powerful and cool, but it is a tad hard to get one at the moment.  Anyway, the thing these ads do, and do very very well, is show why the Hellcats have been so popular.

The title for the two videos is “Predators.”  It features the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat in the wild.  Wild is the key word here; the ad sets a very cool vibe and uses numerous visual cues to reflect a jungle look.  Like a wild animal on the loose, the Dodge vehicles burn up and chase each other through the night, scaring away all the other lesser cars.  Add on top of that Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” and the message of the Hellcats as wild animals on the road hits the bullseye.

The gritty and dark feel with the Dodge car’s red exterior and red lights evokes a unique look for the brand that isn’t shared by the others.  Chrysler has established the washed out look of Americana and Detroit with their Superbowl ads.  Ram hits home the earthly feel combined with country music.  This gives Dodge its own identity.

A Look at Furious 7’s 1970 Dodge Charger

Furious 7 Dodge Charger

Furious 7 is a massive success.  It is one of the few movies out there to celebrate the insane stunts still capable with real cars without the over-reliance on CG.  Dodge has always had a healthy relationship with the filmmakers due to how awesome they make their cars look.  While many of their new vehicles have been prominently featured through the years, many car lovers look to Dom’s classic muscle cars.  One that is featured in the Furious 7 film is his 1970 Dodge Charger.

The YouTube channel The AficionAuto had a chance to speak with Dennis McCarthy, the vehicle coordinator for the recent films.  He agrees with the idea that CG takes away from the final product, so that means that when the filmmakers can, they are using real cars to perform some of the outrageous action setpieces.

His favorite vehicle, it turns out, is the car driven by Vin Diesel’s character Dom, which previously mentioned 1970 Dodge Charger.  Consider what the movie does with it and how it looks, I can’t blame him for being so smitten with it.  Take a look at the whole video, it is really good watch into the process of making a Fast and Furious film.

There’s plenty to love about what Chrysler is doing with the Challenger.  The new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is getting plenty of love from people happy to see a muscle car finally pushing what powerful is.  In an effort to get people even more excited, Chrysler has released a video highlighting the exterior of the new Challenger.

In the video, Mark Trostle tells the viewers about what went into making sure the exterior of the SRT Hellcat could match the most powerful engine being put inside of it.  They wanted to make sure it still held the form and look of the Challenger while still being completely capable of getting to the 600+ hp promised by Chrysler.

Watch the video for yourself and marvel at just what Chrysler is creating:
