Dodge Named One of “World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies”

Fast Company Most Innovative Companies

When naming the top innovative companies in the world, names like Google and Nike immediately jump to mind. According to Fast Company magazine, Dodge belongs among those prestigious names.

This week, Fast Company announced their list of the “World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies” which will be featured in their March 2014 issue. Their list included household names Dropbox, Netflix, and Twitter, and squeezed in between Yelp and SXSW is Dodge. Fast Company’s Jason Feifer praised Dodge’s marketing strategy in 2013, particularly their tie-ins with Anchorman 2 and Fast & Furious 6. Additionally, the Dodge brand was central in the Syfy channel’s series Defiance, and one of Dodge’s new ad campaigns featured popular rapper Pitbull.

Dodge’s presence in popular culture was hard to miss in 2013. Feifer hits the nail on the head when he writes, “When the eponymous character in FX’s Archer received a Dodge for his birthday, it was proof of cultural saturation: That wasn’t a paid spot. Dodge was just on the writer’s minds.”

Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer of Chrysler Group LLC, thanked Fast Company for the honor and praised the work done by the marketing teams with Chrysler LLC. “The campaigns and partnerships we create for each of our brands are as individual and different as the brands themselves,” he stated in a press release. “The Dodge initiatives Fast Company highlighted convey a mind-set that is purely Dodge.”

2014 Dodge Durango Gets Ron Burgundy Endorsement. Does Not Include Many Leather-Bound Books.

The 2014 Dodge Durango has landed the ultimate celebrity endorsement.  There is no one better than Ron Burgundy, the Anchorman, to have telling people what they should do.  After-all, he is Ron Burgundy, people know him.  People wouldn’t talk to someone unless he was 100 percent right about everything.

There’s no doubt that if Mr Burgundy hadn’t been rudely cut off by staged dancers, he would’ve continued to mention that you should bring all inquiries for the 2014 Dodge Durango to Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge.  We stay classy.

Community Comes Together to Purchase a Dodge Dart

24-dart-blue-brickIt’s been a while since we announced that Dodge put together a registry to help customers pay for their Dart. The good news is that the registry has just produced its first full purchase. The even better news is that the first Dart was purchased for charity.

The very first Dodge Dart that was crowd-funded was by a group in Clifton Park, NY by the Northstar Church. The community came together for a greater cause, however, in where the Dart was going to. It was to help a woman, Toni, in need of transportation for her weekly trips to Boston to be part of a clinical trial for treatment..

The registry was made by friends and without her knowledge. All it took to raise the $22,600 for the Dart was 21 days. More than 260 friends, family, and church members put in their contributions to provide for someone in need.

Such a big deal, both the charity and the fact this is the first Dart purchased through the registry, needs a celebration centered around it. So Toni was invited to a special event at a local dealership in Clifton Park to be given the 2013 Dodge Dart SXT by her close friends. Dodge also showed up to take part of the event with a special announcement.

Dodge is giving a contribution of $20,000 to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation in honor of what the attendees of the Northstar Church were able to accomplish. In further effort to help Toni with her medical treatment, the auto company also gave her a $2,000 gift card to help pay for the gas she needs for those long trips to Boston.

“The Dodge Dart Registry was designed as an innovation way for friends and family to come together in raising funds toward the purchase of an all-new Dodge Dart,” Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge Brand said. “In recognition of the great collaborative effort of the Clifton Park, NY, community who raised in excess of $22,500 in support of their friend, I’m pleased to announce a significant contribution on behalf of the Dodge Brand to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation.”

It’s one of those heart-warming stories that is hard not to feel something while reading.  A community rising up to help someone in their neighborhood.  It certainly shows just how the registry can be put to use.  I wonder if there will be any other creative uses of crowd-funding for purchasing a vehicle.
