Dodge Named One of “World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies”

Fast Company Most Innovative Companies

When naming the top innovative companies in the world, names like Google and Nike immediately jump to mind. According to Fast Company magazine, Dodge belongs among those prestigious names.

This week, Fast Company announced their list of the “World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies” which will be featured in their March 2014 issue. Their list included household names Dropbox, Netflix, and Twitter, and squeezed in between Yelp and SXSW is Dodge. Fast Company’s Jason Feifer praised Dodge’s marketing strategy in 2013, particularly their tie-ins with Anchorman 2 and Fast & Furious 6. Additionally, the Dodge brand was central in the Syfy channel’s series Defiance, and one of Dodge’s new ad campaigns featured popular rapper Pitbull.

Dodge’s presence in popular culture was hard to miss in 2013. Feifer hits the nail on the head when he writes, “When the eponymous character in FX’s Archer received a Dodge for his birthday, it was proof of cultural saturation: That wasn’t a paid spot. Dodge was just on the writer’s minds.”

Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer of Chrysler Group LLC, thanked Fast Company for the honor and praised the work done by the marketing teams with Chrysler LLC. “The campaigns and partnerships we create for each of our brands are as individual and different as the brands themselves,” he stated in a press release. “The Dodge initiatives Fast Company highlighted convey a mind-set that is purely Dodge.”

Dodge Durango Continues to Get Ron Burgundy Boost

A while ago we reported on the success that Dodge was having due to their team-up with Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy character.  The ad campaign they produced for the Dodge Durango and to support Ferrell’s upcoming Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues was a smash hit with fans of both the film and the vehicle.  Since we last took a look, the results of the ad series is even better than expected.

In the whole of November, the ad series is being thanked for boosting the sale figures 36% over the previous year.  The number of people visiting Dodge’s website to look at the Durango since the ads premiered is up 80%.  Another number that is up that can be attributed to the ads is what is known as “lower-funnel activity.  This activity is actions such as building a car online or contacting a dealer, actions that would be considered serious purchase intent.  That number is up 100%.

Views for the Ron Burgundy ads continue to grow.  The ads have been watched on YouTube over 15.3 million times already.  If you’re interested in which ones are the most popular, that would be the “It Comes Standard” and “Staring Contest”.

As the onslaught of Ron Burgundy continues, and with the movie about to be released, it will be interesting to see if the love affair the public has with the character will continue.

2014 Dodge Durango: Perfect Family SUV

Ron Burgundy has been doing his job getting people ready to embrace the Dodge Durango. Now it’s up to the critics to give their opinion on what they think of the new SUV. One such review comes courtesy of the Dupont Registry.

Their brief write-up details that there is a lot to like about the new Dodge Durango. The first impression was in how much more beefy the profile of the Durango looked with the new visual aesthetics added, such as the headlights been made narrower from last year’s models. The biggest surprise, however, came in the build. It’s a larger vehicle being a SUV after all, but as the reviewer noted upon getting into the driver’s seat, “it required much less of a hop than expected for an SUV of its stature.”

The interior gets high-marks as well for being classy and stylish while still remaining comfortable. The navigation and the popular UConnect system were very easy to use. For passengers, they get to enjoy the dual screen Blu-ray entertainment center.

But that’s all the look and feel aspects, what about the engine? The Dodge Durango isn’t going to be considered the type of vehicle one takes out to the racetrack. But a car-savy reviewer on the other hand is more than willing to test it out.

The Dodge Durango has a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI engine with an eight speed transmission. The reviewers time with the SUV was positive. The engine is strong and the and shifting gears is smooth. The braking is noted to be very strong, an important feature to have in a vehicle marketed to the more family oriented.

The final decision is that the Dodge Durango is the perfect car for the family unit who need a vehicle to take the kids to school, to get away for the weekend, or to take the boat out on the lake.

Ron Burgundy Gives Dodge Durango a Bump

Ron Burgandy Dodge Durango

There was a time, a time before YouTube. When the local anchorman reigned supreme. There was one man, Ron Burgandy. He was a god amongst mere mortals. He had a voice that could make a wolverine purr and suits so fine they made Sinatra look like a hobo. Times have changed in media though. But that doesn’t mean that Ron Burgandy is going to fade away.

Dodge teamed up with the famous Anchorman, who happens to have a new movie about his life coming out, to promote the Dodge Durango. In the ads, not only has Ron Burgandy shown his love and admiration, but he’s also assaulted, both physically and verbally, a pair of dancers and won a staring contest against a horse.

The ads are certainly not the most professional ever made, but then Ron Burgandy is not known to play by the rules. As people well know, he’s a trend setter. His thinking outside the box has attracted a lot of attention to the Durango.

Since airing at the beginning of October, the ads have garnered a ton of views. Over a million to be a tad more precise. In a survey done by YouGov BrandIndex, the Durango’s buzz has increased substantially. Also seeing an increase is the purchase consideration, which had previously been 16% is now, thanks to the golden pipes of Ron Burgandy, up to 20%.

Ron Burgundy has spoken, there’s no beating the Dodge Durango. Stay classy Dodge.
