A while ago we reported on the success that Dodge was having due to their team-up with Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy character.  The ad campaign they produced for the Dodge Durango and to support Ferrell’s upcoming Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues was a smash hit with fans of both the film and the vehicle.  Since we last took a look, the results of the ad series is even better than expected.

In the whole of November, the ad series is being thanked for boosting the sale figures 36% over the previous year.  The number of people visiting Dodge’s website to look at the Durango since the ads premiered is up 80%.  Another number that is up that can be attributed to the ads is what is known as “lower-funnel activity.  This activity is actions such as building a car online or contacting a dealer, actions that would be considered serious purchase intent.  That number is up 100%.

Views for the Ron Burgundy ads continue to grow.  The ads have been watched on YouTube over 15.3 million times already.  If you’re interested in which ones are the most popular, that would be the “It Comes Standard” and “Staring Contest”.

As the onslaught of Ron Burgundy continues, and with the movie about to be released, it will be interesting to see if the love affair the public has with the character will continue.

New Dodge Dart Ad Shows How To Build the Future

The Dodge Dart is off to a good start this month. The reports coming from the sales for last month showed that the sales almost quadrupled from July’s. The Dart is posied to take the country by storm and in order to do so, it’s needs to make sure more people are aware of it coming out. In order to do that, Dodge made sure it had its voice heard loud and clear during the broadcast of the one of the biggest TV events of the year.

Direct Marketing News is reporting on the Dodge Dart ad that played during the Giants-Cowboys NFL season debut. The advertisers hope that this will help generate an increase of buzz for the vehicle which will then continue on with a strong digital presences. They are hoping to recreate the magic they had back in July when the Dart was given a TV spot during the MLB All-Star Game. That spot drove people to the Dodge site by an increase of 30%.

The TV ad will be titled “How to Make the Most Hi-Tech Car” and in it, Dodge engineers construct a time machine to get a hold of another engineer in the year 3,000. They want him to design Dart’s touchscreen dashboard display.  It’s doing a great job of continuing the fast pace and uniqueness of the previous ad.  See for yourself:

The advertising team for the Dart have been doing a fantastic job so far getting the word out. From contests with deviantART to Transworld skateboarding, they have been making sure that the new generation getting ready to purchase a car have Dart on the mind when they step into the dealership.

Dodge Readys New Commercial for the Dodge Dart

Chrysler has had plenty of success of late with their commercials. The “Import from Detroit” was a hit when it had Eminem in it and made an even bigger splash with Clint Eastwood’s gravely voice during the Super Bowl. Just recently, Chrysler changed up the event a tad to advertise for one of the biggest movies of the year in the form of “Imported from Gotham.” The next commercial being planned is now to get people’s attention focused on the brand new Dodge Dart.

The Detriot Free Press has an article where they interview the man in charge of putting together the new 90-second commercial planned to air during the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The hope is to get the public very excited about Dodge’s first small car in almost seven years. Olivier Francois is the Chrysler Chief Marketing Officer and he spoke about the processing in creating an advertising spot to help get people’s interest in one of the hottest cars of the year,

“It’s almost appeared as mission impossible at the beginning. It’s not about just emotions this time, it’s about substance. We’re asked… with one commercial, not only to speak about Dodge… but to increase awareness, and also to deliver on the product story.”

It’s being described as a fast-paced ad that will use humor and a hip-hop soundtrack to capture attention. It will have Jay-Z and Kayne West with the song “No Church in the Wild” in the ad. It will also feature a cameo from the quarterback of the New England Patriots, Tom Brady.

We’ll make sure to include a link to the commercial as soon as it’s available. Keep checking back with the site to see when it goes live.
