2015 Dodge Challenger, Charger Unveiled at New York International Auto Show

Earlier this week, Dodge announced that the unveiling of the 2015 Dodge Challenger and Charger will be happening at the New York International Auto Show.

The show is open to the public Friday, April 18 thru Sunday, April 27, but the reveal of the new Challenger and Charger will happen during the press preview on Thursday, April 17. It is possible to see the reveal without a press badge, though. There will be a Livestream webcast at 11:30 AM EDT. To view the Livestream, click here.

A press release from Dodge hinted that Dodge’s major presence at the New York International Auto Show is a preview of what Dodge fans can expect with the brand’s upcoming 100th anniversary. In many ways, Dodge seems to be stepping up their game this year with the 2015 line-up. The Dodge brand is well-loved, and it would be easy to rest on their nostalgic laurels for their 100th anniversary. Instead, they are giving the 2015 Dodge Charger a “full-body makeover,” a gutsy move, and Dodge fans will get to give their thoughts on the new look after the reveal on April 17.

Viper Back at the New York International Auto Show

After a brief hiatus, the Viper has made a triumphant return at the New York International Auto Show.

The 2013 SRT Viper, formally the Dodge Viper, was looking slick rolling out onto the floor of the auto show with a bright cherry-red coat against the black and grey SRT backdrop. Chrysler Group was eager to show off the updated (and all-leather) interior, the 18-speaker stereo system, new stability and traction control, and of course the all-aluminum, 8.4-liter V-10 engine. Road & Track even got video of Viper handlers revving up the engine before the show out in Los Angeles. The video is available below. For car lovers, the sound of that engine will be music to their ears.

So far, the unveiling of the Viper has been one of the highlights of the New York Auto Show. Fox News said that the Viper flat-out stole the show with “new levels of sexy enhanced by modern technology,” and the Los Angeles Times praised the Viper’s engine saying it had “more venom under the hood.”

Overall, most of the press agrees that the Viper has fully lived up to the massive hype leading up to the show, and it is easy to see why. This is a car that demands attention. The look is so visually striking that when it is in a room, it is tough to look at anything else, and luckily, the Viper has an engine and an interior to match. Chrysler Group should be proud of their work with the Viper. They gave this iconic car a truly spectacular welcome back.

Travis Pastrana Appearing at New York International Auto Show

This Thursday, car enthusiasts will descend on New York City for the New York International Auto Show for exhibitions, an off-roading ride-along, a career fair, and autograph signings from some of the industry’s biggest names. Already, the line-up is impressive, but Dodge surprised showgoers this morning when they announced on Twitter that Travis Pastrana would be signing autographs this coming Friday at the auto show.

Racing fans can stop by for an autograph between 11 AM and 1 PM. Pastrana announced recently that he will be racing the 2013 Dodge Dart for the 2012 Global RallyCross Championship Series, and he wholeheartedly endorsed the car itself, saying, “If you don’t have the product to win, it’s not worth going racing. I love driving – this is going to be exciting.” Pastrana has also posted about the Dodge Dart on his Twitter account, giving his followers a sneak peek at the car.

The New York International Auto Show runs from Thursday, April 5th through Sunday, April 15th.
