More Dodge Hellcats on The Way?

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat - More Hellcats on Their Way - DodgeDealerNY

Fans of the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcats were hit with some bad news awhile back; Dodge was being hit with more demand than they anticipated and were needing to stop taking orders to keep up.  It’s not bad news for the company, who wouldn’t want to hear about just how well your vehicle sales were doing.  For the driver who wants to keep a hold of one of these beast, though, that is heart-breaking.  Good news, however, seems to have arrived.

Fox News was able to get a hold of an industry insider to conform a rumor being told on a fan forum.  The posting said that Dodge had found a way to add more Hellcats to the market.  It looks like 1,000 extra Hellcats will be released to meet demand.

Dodge has had a tough time with the demand for the Challenger and Charger Hellcats.  They have gotten twice the amount of orders than they expected with only 2,200 vehicles delivered so far and 10,000 orders placed so far.  The freeze is still in place, even with Fox News saying this extra car volume being confirmed.  So until further notice, no new orders, but hopefully this will get things moving.

Viper Back at the New York International Auto Show

After a brief hiatus, the Viper has made a triumphant return at the New York International Auto Show.

The 2013 SRT Viper, formally the Dodge Viper, was looking slick rolling out onto the floor of the auto show with a bright cherry-red coat against the black and grey SRT backdrop. Chrysler Group was eager to show off the updated (and all-leather) interior, the 18-speaker stereo system, new stability and traction control, and of course the all-aluminum, 8.4-liter V-10 engine. Road & Track even got video of Viper handlers revving up the engine before the show out in Los Angeles. The video is available below. For car lovers, the sound of that engine will be music to their ears.

So far, the unveiling of the Viper has been one of the highlights of the New York Auto Show. Fox News said that the Viper flat-out stole the show with “new levels of sexy enhanced by modern technology,” and the Los Angeles Times praised the Viper’s engine saying it had “more venom under the hood.”

Overall, most of the press agrees that the Viper has fully lived up to the massive hype leading up to the show, and it is easy to see why. This is a car that demands attention. The look is so visually striking that when it is in a room, it is tough to look at anything else, and luckily, the Viper has an engine and an interior to match. Chrysler Group should be proud of their work with the Viper. They gave this iconic car a truly spectacular welcome back.
