2014 Dodge Challenger Shaker Announced

Nostalgia is a powerful tool in all businesses. it reminds us of times gone by and is typically proceeded by a long sigh while remarking “those were the days.” Dodge has gone and conjured up the ghosts of the past by introducing (or re-introducing in this case) the 2014 Dodge Challenger Shaker, complete with a hood calling back to the original muscle car.

The Satin Black Shaker hood lives up to its name, showing people who didn’t know about it just why the name is shaker. It shakes back and forth with the engine’s torque. According to Dodge, the new Shaker hood works with a cold-air intake system that scoops up air and then filters it through a conical air filter. The process continues through a specially optimized air box that improves the airflow and thus the performance of the Challenger.

The 2014 Challenger Shaker comes with 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 and comes with the option of being improved and upgraded by various packages thanks to Dodge’s new “Scat Packages.”

Expect to see the Challenger Shaker in dealerships in the first quarter of 2014. The current pricing starts at $36,995 and comes with the Challenger’s Super Track Pak. This includes the high-performance steering gear, a stiffer suspension, and Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car tires. The 2014 Dodge Durango has landed the ultimate celebrity endorsement.  There is no one better than Ron Burgundy, the Anchorman, to have telling people what they should do.  After-all, he is Ron Burgundy, people know him.  People wouldn’t talk to someone unless he was 100 percent right about everything.

2013 Dodge Dart: Top Safety Pick by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety

If safety is a concern, then the Dodge Dart may have just gone to the top of the list for possible purchases.  The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put the sedan through their tests and gave the Dart their “Top Safety Pick+.”

The 2013 Dodge Dart earned the maximum possible rating in all of the crash tests it underwent.  There are four tests in the whole scheme to see how protected occupants are in the event of an accident.  That includes a recreation of a rollover, rear, side, and moderate-overlap frontal impacts.  The final score for these tests were “good.”  Good enough to earn a 5-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

As any company would be, Dodge is proud to see their Dart come home with a good report card to pin to the refrigerator.  Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge Brand, gleamed with pride about the results.  “We are very pleased that the Dart has earned a Top Safe Pick+ designation.  In additional to its solid structure- the Dart’s 68-percent high-strength-steel content ratio is one of the highest in the industry- the Dart boasts more than 60 safety and security features.  They include 10 standard air bags, which is unsurpassed in the compact car segment.”

Dodge Hits 2 Million Likes on Facebook!

2M_cover_photo_851x315It appears that Dodge is quite popular on Facebook. So much so that it just made a rare number with how many people have liked it. Just yesterday, Dodge passed the 2 million likes.

The growth has been fairly rapid too. It’s been over only the past year that the Facebook page of Dodge has doubled. Nearly a million likes in just that time frame.

It’s hard not to see why people are flocking to the Dodge page to express their love for some of the best cars on the market. The Dodge Dart, for example, has really gotten fans and critics alike behind it. While the initial start of its sales may have been rocky, it’s clear that both the hype and word of mouth are starting to take effect with drivers.

Then there was a good boost from its marketing campaigns this year. Dodge jumped into games and TV this year with the popular new sci-fi TV show and game Defiance by providing an awesome post-apocalyptic Charger. Also, having your vehicle line-up so focused upon in one of the biggest movies of the year doesn’t hurt.
