Dodge Dart Sales Grow in August

The end of August means that the sales numbers for the month will be coming soon. While it’ll be interesting to see how the trends go for Chrysler and the rest of the industry, there is one notable bit of news already.

We’ve been hyping up and reporting on the upcoming Dodge Dart and about how much it’s going to take the industry by storm. The reviews have started coming in and it’s been extremely positive. August is really the first month where people could get the Dart in limited quantities before the full roll-out later this year. Dodge has put out the numbers for just how well the Dart did with the small release.

In the month of August, Dodge Dart managed to move 3,000 units. To put that in perspective, June had sales for the new vehicle at 250 units and 850 in July. Dodge wants to make sure that it’s careful with how it’s bringing out the new sedan and maintain a high quality.

Chrysler executives believe that September will be even higher for the sedan. A lot of that is due to the Dart seeing a much needed boost in its production over the course of the next month. The additional production to the Dart does come at the cost of the Jeep Compass and Patriot getting a lower number rolled out of the plants. The increase in making Darts has given the plant an additional workforce of 1,000 employees.

Dodge Dart is the hottest car of the year and we’ll be continuing the coverage it creates. You can keep up to date on it by liking us on Facebook and following us on Twitter. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the online show-room for more information on the Dart and other Dodge vehicles.

Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger are the Most Ideal Vehicles

Two Dodge cars need to clear some space in their trophy case for some new awards. The Chrysler AutoPacific’s 2012 Ideal Vehicle Awards are out and have given high honors to the Dodge Charger and the Dodge Challenger.

The Ideal Vehicle Awards are based on 15 key attributes of owner ratings on a 2012 vehicle 90 days after they bought it. These points include power and acceleration, ride and handling, interior roominess, and cargo space. AutoPacific ended up surveying over 75,000 car owners to get their thoughts on which were the best.

The 2012 Dodge Charger is the Ideal Large Car. 90 percent of the Charger owners gave the highest rating of ideal to the exterior size, the ride and handling, even the ease of just getting inside the vehicle and getting back out. There were other features that received a great deal of praise from owners were the comfort of the seats, the tires, and the safety features.

The 2012 Dodge Challenger is the Ideal Vehicle for Sporty Cars. This is due in part to the powerful engine, the powerful and athletic exterior styling, and all the features that people want in a classic American muscle car.

Doug Betts, the Senior Vice President of Chrysler Group said in regards to the win, “Winning awards for Jeep and Dodge vehicles based on customer feedback is very gratifying. Recognition by the customers proves we take consumer input very seriously in all the vehicles we design and build at Chrysler.”

Dodge Website Highest in Satisfaction According to Survey

Dodge has many reasons to be happy for the start of August. First, the full release of the Dodge Dart is right around the corner and is getting a lot of love from all around the car world. Second, Dodge saw a great increase in their overall sales for the month of July. Lastly, Dodge is getting a featured slot in a major upcoming film. That’s not all, however, to be proud about for the car maker, thanks to J.D. Power and Associates.

According to Allpar, J.D. Power and Associates have the Dodge brand as the highest ranked website in the industry for overall satisfaction among new-vehicle shoppers in the 2012 Manufacturer Website Evaluations Study. The study looked at how useful the websites for the auto makers were for new buyers. The sites are graded on their content, navigation, appearance, and speed. Rankings are then determined by a surveyed response by the car buyer who have said they will be in the market for a new car within the next 24 months.

Tom Laymac, the head of Chrysler’s interactive marketing commented on the survey results, “Consumers increasingly researched vehicle purchases online, but the challenge is the variety of online options whether it’s from a tablet, cell phone, or computer. We’ve made significant updates to simplify the design, improve the navigation and help shoppes get to the product information faster whether it’s from a computer screen or mobile device.”

Dodge Readys New Commercial for the Dodge Dart

Chrysler has had plenty of success of late with their commercials. The “Import from Detroit” was a hit when it had Eminem in it and made an even bigger splash with Clint Eastwood’s gravely voice during the Super Bowl. Just recently, Chrysler changed up the event a tad to advertise for one of the biggest movies of the year in the form of “Imported from Gotham.” The next commercial being planned is now to get people’s attention focused on the brand new Dodge Dart.

The Detriot Free Press has an article where they interview the man in charge of putting together the new 90-second commercial planned to air during the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The hope is to get the public very excited about Dodge’s first small car in almost seven years. Olivier Francois is the Chrysler Chief Marketing Officer and he spoke about the processing in creating an advertising spot to help get people’s interest in one of the hottest cars of the year,

“It’s almost appeared as mission impossible at the beginning. It’s not about just emotions this time, it’s about substance. We’re asked… with one commercial, not only to speak about Dodge… but to increase awareness, and also to deliver on the product story.”

It’s being described as a fast-paced ad that will use humor and a hip-hop soundtrack to capture attention. It will have Jay-Z and Kayne West with the song “No Church in the Wild” in the ad. It will also feature a cameo from the quarterback of the New England Patriots, Tom Brady.

We’ll make sure to include a link to the commercial as soon as it’s available. Keep checking back with the site to see when it goes live.
