Dodge Readies Plan for 2016 Dodge SRT Hellcat Production

Dodge Readies 2016 SRT Hellcat Production Plan - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge

The Dodge Hellcats have been one of the most popular vehicles this year.  It has been so popular that it has been next near impossible to get hands on one.  Dodge has been frantically been trying to keep up with the amount of orders they received.  The supply definitely was behind the demand.  Dodge was unprepared for how much people would want a Hellcat.  To keep that from happening again, Dodge is prepping for the 2016 models of Hellcats to make sure they can meet the demand of buyers.

“We could not have asked for a more enthusiastic response to the Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge and SRT.  “To meet this demand, we are more than doubling our SRT Hellcat production for 2016 and simplifying the process to make it easier for our enthusiasts to get their hands on the hottest muscle cars in history.”

This good news does have one sour caveat with it.  Dodge will be canceling unscheduled 2015 SRT Hellcat orders.  For those that get this unfortunate news, the silver lining is that Dodge will be offering each customer that gets their order canceled a discount on the 2016 model year.

The steps that Dodge is taking to make sure it doesn’t run into the same issue with orders like in 2015 is to give dealers a potential allocation total for the entire model year.  This number will be based on previous Dodge sales.  The dealers will be getting this number by August 2015.

Dodge Challenger, Charger Lead Segments in JD Power’s APEAL Study

JD Power Apeal Study - DodgeDealerNY - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge

According to the new Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) study from JD Power, three vehicles in the FCA family lead their segments.

The winners are the Dodge Challenger, Charger, and Fiat 500.  The Challenger is the leader in Midsize Sporty Car- the fourth time it has in five years-, the Charger is in Large Car, and Fiat 500 in the City Car segments.

The APEAL study that JD Power runs is a measure of how pleased drivers are with their new vehicle purchase.  The study, now in its 20th year, surveys drivers after they’ve owned the new vehicle for 90 days.  They are asked about how much they enjoy drive the new car and have the customer evaluated the vehicle on 77 different attributes.  This is only done with new vehicles for the 2015 model year.

“We’re proud to receive three APEAL awards in back-to-back years as customers continue to recognize we’re delivering exciting and appealing vehicles which meet their needs,” said Matt Liddan, the VP of Quality at FCA-NA.  “An owner’s positive experience with our vehicles whether that’s with a Dodge Challenger or a Fiat 500, is a true testament to our steadfast commitment to the highest level of quality across our vehicle lineup.”

Other vehicle fared well in the study.  The 2015 Ram 1500 ranked second in the Large Light Duty Pickup.  The 2015 Chrysler 300 is third in the Large Car segment.

Dodge’s “Predators” Features Hellcats on the Prowl

Dodge Predators - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge DodgeDealerNY

It is always great to see new Dodge ads pop up.  Dodge produced two new videos to showcase the how awesome and powerful their Hellcats are.

Showing the Hellcats in this way is kind of rubbing salt in the wound.  Yes Dodge, we all know that the Hellcats are powerful and cool, but it is a tad hard to get one at the moment.  Anyway, the thing these ads do, and do very very well, is show why the Hellcats have been so popular.

The title for the two videos is “Predators.”  It features the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat in the wild.  Wild is the key word here; the ad sets a very cool vibe and uses numerous visual cues to reflect a jungle look.  Like a wild animal on the loose, the Dodge vehicles burn up and chase each other through the night, scaring away all the other lesser cars.  Add on top of that Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” and the message of the Hellcats as wild animals on the road hits the bullseye.

The gritty and dark feel with the Dodge car’s red exterior and red lights evokes a unique look for the brand that isn’t shared by the others.  Chrysler has established the washed out look of Americana and Detroit with their Superbowl ads.  Ram hits home the earthly feel combined with country music.  This gives Dodge its own identity.
