At this point, the public should not be caught by surprise at the news that Jay Leno has an extensive car collection.  He’s never been shy of showing off the vast line-up he has accumulated over the years.  Since retiring from the Tonight Show, Leno has been putting out various YouTube videos that put his cars on display, as he did when he was able to get a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.  After taking it for a thorough test-drive, he ended up giving one to a returning vet.  Leno is now planning on premiering a CNBC show titled “Jay Leno’s Garage” in which the host will run for eight episodes.

The shows concept is simple, it will be Jay Leno covering the thing he knows the most about cars.  It will also combine his love and knowledge of cars with his other passion, guest stars.  Each episode will bring on a different celebrity for him to interview and drive around with.

The first episode’s guest-star will be Tim Allen.  The two will be facing off against each other in what is bound to be quite the spectacle.  They will be racing Hellcats against one another.  Can definitely not wait to see that one in action.

Aside from such spectacles as racing around in Hellcats, Leno will also be using the show to highlight classic cars, restoration projects, and various road tests.  It really looks like it is bound to give car lovers something to drool over and Jay Leno is definitely the best choice to do this.

Dodge Plans for 2016 Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats

Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

The popularity of the Dodge Hellcats was something that Dodge didn’t expect.  Due to those issues, the brand had to make some tough choices about the 2015 Hellcats and pull the plug on getting more out to customers, instead giving them a refund and first crack at the newly announced 2016 models.  While this certainly is bad news for customers still trying to get a Hellcat Challenger or Charger, the boost in popularity has really helped the brand.

“It’s an absolute milestone of Dodge history,” said Dodge and SRT President and CEO Tim Kuniskis according to Detroit News.  “It’s the ’71 Hemi all over again.”

The cancellation of orders left hundreds without Hellcats and to rectify this, Dodge is putting an increase in effort into their production of the 2016 line.  They will be producing more than double what was in 2015 in hopes of making sure they avoid this problem in the future.  The two Hellcats, the Charger and Challenger, will also be getting an increase in price.  The main reason is that the standard equipment on the 2016 models has been made nicer, including Laguna leather.

Dodge Woodward Dream Cruise 2015 - Dodge Dealer NY Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge

Dodge motor heads, it is time for a glorious celebration.  The Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise is back in 2015 and Dodge is bringing out the big guns to make sure this year’s event is memorable.

“The Woodward Dream Cruise is a celebration of performance car culture, and Dodge is proud to be at the heart of a gathering of like-minded people who have a passion for cars and a passion for performance,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge, about the event.  “This is the second year in a row Dodge is pulling out all the stops for the Cruise, and if you thought last year was big, this year is going to be absolutely a ‘can’t miss’ event.”

Throughout the four day event, it is expected to draw in racing enthusiasts and those who really want to show off their custom cars.  On the Dodge side of the event, the muscle car maker is bringing some special treats for racing fans.

The popular Hellcats will be making an appearance.  Both the Charger and Challenger will be on hand to be driven through a ‘Drag-n-Drift’ thrill ride alongside a professional driver.  The 2016 Dodge Viper ACR, the fastest street-legal Viper, will also be on display.  Dodge will also have a Dodge Challenger simulator at the event for attendees to compete for high test tract times against each other.

Dodge Readies Plan for 2016 Dodge SRT Hellcat Production

Dodge Readies 2016 SRT Hellcat Production Plan - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge

The Dodge Hellcats have been one of the most popular vehicles this year.  It has been so popular that it has been next near impossible to get hands on one.  Dodge has been frantically been trying to keep up with the amount of orders they received.  The supply definitely was behind the demand.  Dodge was unprepared for how much people would want a Hellcat.  To keep that from happening again, Dodge is prepping for the 2016 models of Hellcats to make sure they can meet the demand of buyers.

“We could not have asked for a more enthusiastic response to the Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge and SRT.  “To meet this demand, we are more than doubling our SRT Hellcat production for 2016 and simplifying the process to make it easier for our enthusiasts to get their hands on the hottest muscle cars in history.”

This good news does have one sour caveat with it.  Dodge will be canceling unscheduled 2015 SRT Hellcat orders.  For those that get this unfortunate news, the silver lining is that Dodge will be offering each customer that gets their order canceled a discount on the 2016 model year.

The steps that Dodge is taking to make sure it doesn’t run into the same issue with orders like in 2015 is to give dealers a potential allocation total for the entire model year.  This number will be based on previous Dodge sales.  The dealers will be getting this number by August 2015.
