Dodge Looks to Fuel Efficent Cars to Win Big

Gas prices were one of the major components in the downfall of the auto industry. When prices sky rocketed to $4.12 in July of 2008, the Big Three weren’t prepared to deal with it by having smaller cars. Instead, the big thing at the moment were the giant gas guzzling SUVs and trucks. Sales went down more than 20 percent compared to Toyota with the fuel efficient Corolla which went up 16 percent.

Now that the auto industry has managed to dig their way out of the hole, they are making sure to not make the same mistake. In order to not repeat mistakes of the past, Dodge is making sure to have choices available to those feeling the pinch at the pump. Buyers are wanting to get the smaller cars now, especially with the constant fluctuation of gas prices. That’s why Dodge is getting ready to let loose with the Dart.

The Dart is designed to target the consumer who wants to get a great vehicle and not spend so much extra fueling it up. Dodge seems to understand that, in these times, the best cars will be the one that doesn’t break the bank at the pump. The best cars will be the ones that make sure the gas station is something seen only in the rear view.
