The Dodge Dart GT was announced back at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in January. It was shown to have a 2.4-liter Tigershark engine capable of 184-horsepower and a choice of either six-speed manual, or six-speed automatic transmission. That GT variant of the Dart is, finally, in production and available for ordering.

The new Dart GT model is the newest member of the expansive family that Dodge is building for the Dart. The list already includes the Dart SE, SXR, Rallye, Aero and Limited. Even with such a wide and variety list of Dart models, that doesn’t mean Dodge is stopping there. They are exploring the possibility of a high-performance R/T model of the Dart.

Reid Bigland elaborated on what it was that Dart GT would bring to the faithful fans in March at the New York International Auto Show, “It will definitely be the quickest Dart off the line, and our customers, hardcore Dodge customer, like that power off the line.”

What is it the GT is adding other than a supped up engine? It’s also going to have 18-inch aluminum wheels, sport suspension that has frequency sensing damping shocks. To prove to world that your Dart has that added something, the front fascia is a unique performance front with black accents complimented by a grille done up in Hyper Black. The starting cost for the GT is $20,995.
