New Dodge Demon Video Highlights Build Flexibility

The Dodge Demon is coming and Dodge is building up hype for it by drip-feeding fans information on it.  On their website, www.ifyouknowyouknow.com, they’ve been slowly but surely releasing information on what to expect when the final reveal of the Demon occurs at the 2017 New York International Auto Show.  This is the now the fourth video and the name of it is ‘Crate.’

Crate in this video applies to the customization the Demon will have.  The Challenger SRT Demon will provide its driver the ability to customize and build the Demon up to their own ultimate muscle car.  That gives the Demon flexibility to be a street performance car, a drag strip performance car, or somewhere in between.

The video shows the 18 components that maximize the Demon’s flexibility.  This includes Direct Connection Demon Performance Parts, Demon-branded track tools, matching Demon spare wheels, and Demon Track Pack System.  It’ll be exciting to find out exactly what these are, but for now they remain cool-named mysteries.

Dodge Demon Revealed in New Fate of the Furious Video?

Has the Dodge Demon accidentally been revealed?  For the last week, Dodge has been teasing muscle car lovers with the first look at the Dodge Demon which was supposed to be during the New York International Auto Show.  Thanks to some clever sleuthing, however, a first look at the Dodge Demon may have appeared right under everyone’s noses.

Motor Authority took a closer look at the latest trailer for the new movie in “The Fast and the Furious” franchise, “The Fate of the Furious.”  It’s no secret that Dodge and the movie series have a long and loving relationship as the drivers in the films, especially Vin Diesel’s character, have a love for Dodge and other FCA cars.  “The Fast and Furious” has always made Dodge look amazing on screen.  It should be no surprise that the filmmakers would be allowed to work with the latest and greatest from Dodge and that may mean that the Demon will be making an appearance in the film.

Motor Authority believes this to be true and they may have spotted the Demon in a new video that shows Diesel in a video he posted to his Facebook page that may have shown the Dodge Demon in the background.  Combine that with the timelines of the film’s release and the New York auto show both happening on April 12th, and it seems clear that the Demon won’t just be making it’s auto show debut, but also a film debut.

Can’t wait to see what crazy stunts the “Fast and Furious” people put together if the Dodge Demon manages to make it to the big screen.

Dodge Charger Earns Residual Value Award for The Third Year in a Row!

The 2017 Dodge Charger has earned the Residual Value Award for the third time in three years!

This recognition comes from the ALG, an industry authority on automotive residual value projections in the US.  They analyze nearly 2,500 vehicles every year to provide consumers with the information.  ALG recognizes 26 vehicles with segment awards.  The awards are based on the 2017 model-year vehicles.

“Striking a delicate balance between traditional sedan and muscle car, the Dodge Charger represents the shifting trends in the full-size segment,” said Eric Lyman, VP of industry insights for ALG.  “A wide range of powertrain and comfort features ensure there is a perfect Charger for every personality.  High performance teams up with high value as the Dodge Charger lands back-to-back Residual Value Awards in 2017.”

“ALG recognizes vehicles and brands that stand out from the rest of the market, and that is exactly what the Dodge Charger does,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands at FCA.  “The only-four door muscle car in the market has now won this award from ALG three years in a row, and that is a testament to the fact that there is nothing else like Charger on the road today.”

Is the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Overkill?

2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

The Dodge Charger Hellcat has always been popular with car fans due to its extreme power.  That 707 horsepower was hard not to get excited about.  That makes it hard not to use extreme comparisons and words when used to describe the Charger Hellcat.  As a writer for MSN Autos put it, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is “Nuclear overkill.”

It’s clear from his review of the Charger SRT Hellcat that writer Will Sabel Courtney is overwhelmed by it.  One of those is what to use to describe his time with the Charger.  In his own words “It’s hard to avoid nuclear terminology when trying to describe the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi known as the Hellcat.”  In the end, the word that came out to describe the Charger Hellcat is “overkill.”

Is the Dodge Charger Hellcat too much power for its own good?  It may just be.  The problem with that idea is that I believe the appeal of the Charger Hellcat is the idea of overkill.  It’s a muscle car with as much power poured into it as possible.  That’s what the power of something like this wants.  It’s the fun and the thrill of the drive that is wanted.

Courtney does realize this.  He compares the fun of driving the Charger Hellcat to what it is that makes people wait in line for a ride at a Six Flags.

Check out the review of the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat and see if you agree that the Hellcat engine is overkill.
