Dodge’s Future is Bright and Plans for More Focus.

avenger_Blacktop_1Apparently reports of Dodge’s “demise” are greatly exaggerated. Dodge is here to stay!

We may have commented on the future of Dodge a few weeks back, but Ralph Gilles, SRT’s president, wants to put those rumors to bed for good. He took to his twitter account over the weekend to write out those very words, that “…all rumors, Dodge is here to stay! It may get more focused going forward but not killed.”

The keyword in what he posted appears to be “focused.” Just speculating here, but could that mean the more redundant in the Chrysler line-up are going to be discontinued? Will there be a unified focus on certain model types?

Car Advice notes that Dodge has already been making steps towards being more focused. Ram split from Dodge and became it’s own sub-brand back in 2009. SRT took off on its own as well, focusing on performance and taking the Viper from Dodge. The Avenger is planned to be put on a shelf come 2004 and if Durango doesn’t make a come-back, then it leaves Dodge with the Dart, Charger, Challenger, and the Journey.

That means it’s time to simply wait and see what happens next. One thing is certain, while specific models might be blurry when looking at the future, Dodge brand is bright. Gilles isn’t one to mince words. So just what is it that Dodge has up its sleeve?

Dodge Hits 2 Million Likes on Facebook!

2M_cover_photo_851x315It appears that Dodge is quite popular on Facebook. So much so that it just made a rare number with how many people have liked it. Just yesterday, Dodge passed the 2 million likes.

The growth has been fairly rapid too. It’s been over only the past year that the Facebook page of Dodge has doubled. Nearly a million likes in just that time frame.

It’s hard not to see why people are flocking to the Dodge page to express their love for some of the best cars on the market. The Dodge Dart, for example, has really gotten fans and critics alike behind it. While the initial start of its sales may have been rocky, it’s clear that both the hype and word of mouth are starting to take effect with drivers.

Then there was a good boost from its marketing campaigns this year. Dodge jumped into games and TV this year with the popular new sci-fi TV show and game Defiance by providing an awesome post-apocalyptic Charger. Also, having your vehicle line-up so focused upon in one of the biggest movies of the year doesn’t hurt. Fans love Fast and the Furious, and Dodge has always had a great relationship with the filmmakers.

If you haven’t liked Dodge yet, head over to the Facebook page and join the swelling crowds. Don’t forget to like Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge’s Facebook page while you’re at it. We operate in the Queens area and offer top-quality customer service for those looking to drive away in a new or pre-owned vehicle. We love to say yes!

Dodge Dart GT is in Production and is Ready to Order

UntitledThe Dodge Dart GT was announced back at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in January. It was shown to have a 2.4-liter Tigershark engine capable of 184-horsepower and a choice of either six-speed manual, or six-speed automatic transmission. That GT variant of the Dart is, finally, in production and available for ordering.

The new Dart GT model is the newest member of the expansive family that Dodge is building for the Dart. The list already includes the Dart SE, SXR, Rallye, Aero and Limited. Even with such a wide and variety list of Dart models, that doesn’t mean Dodge is stopping there. They are exploring the possibility of a high-performance R/T model of the Dart.

Reid Bigland elaborated on what it was that Dart GT would bring to the faithful fans in March at the New York International Auto Show, “It will definitely be the quickest Dart off the line, and our customers, hardcore Dodge customer, like that power off the line.”

What is it the GT is adding other than a supped up engine? It’s also going to have 18-inch aluminum wheels, sport suspension that has frequency sensing damping shocks. To prove to world that your Dart has that added something, the front fascia is a unique performance front with black accents complimented by a grille done up in Hyper Black. The starting cost for the GT is $20,995.
