New Dodge Journey Coming in 2016?

UntitledThe Dodge Journey first was first launched in 2009. Since then the mid-sized crossover SUV really hasn’t been changed in a major way. The next-generation of the model will be coming in 2016.

Automotive News is reporting that the Dodge Journey will be taking production away from the Chrysler 200 sedan, which is being built in the Sterling Heights Assembly plant in Michigan. Production of the Journey currently is in Toluca, Mexico.

The rumor being reported on is that, like the Chrysler 200, the new Dodge Journey will be using the same Giulieta platform that’s being used for the Dodge Dart and the upcoming Jeep Cherokee.

By moving production up to Michigan may be happening to help reduce costs by making it easier for suppliers to provide common components necessary to build the vehicles. Seems like a smart choice, especially if Dodge plans on really pushing the new generation of the Dodge Journey.

Dodge Announces New Special Edition Dodge Darts

The Dodge Dart is about options. It’s about having a vast wealth of different parts and accessories to choose from to make a Dart your own. Think of it like going into an ice cream store with 64 different flavors.

Now that I’ve probably already got you wanting ice cream (and hopefully you’ve come back to finish reading after finishing off a scoop), it’s time to show off the new members of the Dart family in the form of all-new Special Edition packages.

2013 Dodge Dart SXT Special EditionThe first up is the Dart SXT Special Edition. It packs all the standard equipment from the SXT, including a 2.0-liter 160 horsepower Tigershark 4-cylinder engine. The new package is about adding visual flair. It adds a unique black crosshair grille, dark-tinted projector headlamps, and LED racetrack tail lamps. That’s just on the outside. Inside of the coupe, the package provides a leather-wrapped steering wheel and front passenger seat in-seat storage. The MSRP for the package is $595.

2013 Dodge Dart SXT Special Edition with the Rallye Appearance GroupThe second package is the Rallye Appearance Group. The Special Edition adds a unique dark front fascia, Rallye badge, and class-exclusive 17-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels. The MSRP for this package is $395.

2013 Dodge Dart Limited Special Edition

The last Special Edition is the Dart Limited package. The features included is a powered sunroof, heated front seats, and the steering wheel is heated as well. The quality of the seats doesn’t end there, they’re also covered in premium Nappa leather. The finishing touch is the 8.4 inch-touch screen with Garmin Navigation on it. This package has an MSRP of $1,810.
